I cannot resist making a comment- ‘Everything is a mess’ … as I read this I was thinking that when I’m ‘being’ a mess or I’m being with people who are going through a messy time, the same ‘rules’ you listed are helpful. Stop, have a cup, listen, watch, be attentive, breath, read a poem, ask a question, be grateful, pray …. With myself and with others, these actions ‘clean up the mess’ or maybe just bring comfort in the mess. Often times, that is enough.
What a great way to think of this - thank you! And yes, "comfort in the mess" - how often that posture alone changes/cleans so much. Thank you again, Penny.
