Hmmm - this was enlightening and gave me something to consider that I hadn’t thought about before. I also see the grace in your heart as you appreciated the others for who they are … and where they had been.
Love this. Stories do connect us. This reminded me of a great writing exercise I've been meaning to share with the studio: tell the story of your name.
Thanks, Beth - and yes, that is a great exercise! I'd never thought of it as a prompt like that but, of course, it is bound to open up all kinds of stories and connections. Thanks again!
Thank you for the real story. We debated Logan or Blanchard and hyphenated. Probably settled on the traditional for reasons of simplicity so I did not have to answer that question. In Mexico your official name is first husband or father's last and mother's last name.
Thanks, Jim. Yes, simplicity is compelling for sure! And yes, I had forgotten that about Mexico....and certainly a good example of how the norms differ from place to place. Thanks for that!
Hyphen... it’s like a dash... it’s punctuation that builds community.
indeed! Well said... :)
Very clever!
Thanks, Suzy - I never quite know where a piece will go until I start typing :)

Thanks, Penny. Lots more that could've been written on this one for sure. Thanks again!
